The population of Round Rock was 1,200 in 1878, and this area saw fluctuations until 1960 when the population figures climbed to 2,458. Between 1970 and 1980, Round Rock Texas began to see exponential growth with increases as high as 400% over the next decades.*
Although the new Round Rock has more and more residents living and working in Round Rock, a large percent of the City’s residents still commute to Northwest & Downtown Austin. Round Rock is located on both eastern and western sides of IH-35 and offers convenient access into Austin.
Round Rock also offers very affordable homes just outside of Austin and one of the best school districts in Central Texas, and both of these qualities make it a highly desired area.
